About Us
Our team Gotham Erskine LLP is a four partner firm, with twelve fully qualified staff and ten part qualified trainees supported by six administrative staff. Our staff come from nearly ten different countries, and we have an equal ratio of men to women.
We are proud of the high level of customer service our team provides to our clients, and in the last two Charity Finance surveys we were voted amongst the Top 20 firms nationally giving the best all round service to the charity sector, as well as being in the Top 20 by volume of work. In terms of client satisfaction the latest survey gave us the second highest proportion of very satisfied clients in the Top 20.

Dedicated
to delivering a first class client service
Gotham Erskine was established in 1999 as a result of the merger of Gotham & Co and Simon Erskine & Co, with John Ellis & Co coming on board in July 2007 to form Gotham Erskine LLP. Today we continue to build on our enviable reputation for providing excellent advice and first class service to clients. We have many clients in the not for profit sector, small and large, including:
- registered charities
- campaigning groups
- political parties
- trading subsidiaries of charities and other voluntary organisations
- tenant management co-operatives
- other housing co-operatives including registered social landlords
We have also, over the years, built up a portfolio of SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) and personal tax clients from amongst our not-for-profit clients and contacts. For example John Ellis's client, Star Events Group, is a substantial enterprise in the events industry and came to us through John's work with Rock against Racism. We believe that having a viable portfolio of enterprises in our client-base is crucial to being able to provide a rounded service to not-for-profit clients, which include many social enterprises. Indeed as auditors not only of Social Enterprise Coalition, the voice of the sector in the UK, and Social Enterprise London, which plays a similar role in London, we see social enterprise as a crucial and vibrant area of the larger not-for-profit sector
As well as general accountancy, audit and tax skills, the four partners have individual specialist skills which enable us to provide clients with a first class service as and when required. They have over 100 years' experience between them in the sector (before taking into account the 25 years' experience of our associate, Anna Long, and our staff). We pride ourselves on delivering an unparalleled service to all clients, whatever their size.
We provide advice on how to improve and develop your organisation. Whether you need an integrated organisation strategy, help setting up accounting systems or specialist tax advice we are here to help you achieve your goals.
Our central aim is to provide a high quality, professional and friendly service for our clients and a fulfilling, rewarding and satisfying livelihood for our staff and ourselves.
